Fujitsu HVAC Errors

Technical Specification Overview

Fujitsu systems operate efficiently within a specific refrigerant pressure range of 60 to 80 psi on the low side and 200 to 250 psi on the high side under normal conditions. The unit typically requires a voltage supply of 208-230V AC to function optimally, with a monitoring range for thermistors operating between -40°C to 70°C. Communication between the indoor and outdoor units uses a proprietary protocol over two 1.5 mm² twisted-pair wires.

Troubleshooting Checklist

  • Verify the error code: Access the unit's display or controller to ensure the error code reads "EE." Document any additional codes that accompany it for further analysis.
  • Inspect refrigerant levels: Connect a manifold gauge set to the service ports. Confirm the low-side pressure is between 60-80 psi and the high-side pressure is between 200-250 psi. Any readings outside this range likely indicate a leak or charge deficiency.
  • Check for refrigerant leaks: Use a digital leak detector around all joints and soldered areas of the refrigerant lines. Pay particular attention to connections, service ports, and evaporator coils as common leak points.
  • Examine the compressor: Assess the compressor for unusual noises or signs of overheating. Measure the compressor's operating current using a clamp meter; verify that it does not exceed the nameplate rating by more than 10%.
  • Inspect electrical connections: Use a multimeter to measure the DC voltage across the communication lines. The normal range should be between 24VDC and 30VDC. A reading below 20VDC suggests a potential wiring issue that may prevent proper operation.
  • Test for thermistor functionality: Using a thermocouple meter, measure the resistance of the thermistors. Typical resistance should be within the range of 2kΩ to 10kΩ at standard operating temperatures. Discrepancies may indicate faulty sensors needing replacement.
  • Review system settings: Ensure the refrigerant type aligns with system specifications (R410A for most Fujitsu models). An incorrect refrigerant can induce improper pressure and performance issues.
  • Monitor operational environment: Assess external temperatures. Ensure the ambient temperature remains within the operational limits of the unit (typically -15°C to 50°C). Extreme conditions can contribute to erroneous fault codes.
