  • Inspect power connections: Ensure all wiring connections, especially at the main circuit board and power supply, are secure. Look for frayed wires or corrosion that could disrupt the connection.
  • Check error codes: Refer to the system's service manual for specific error codes correlated with the double flashing lamp. This will guide you to the specific malfunction being indicated.
  • Examine the communication lines: With a digital multimeter, check the voltage across the RS-485 communication lines. The expected range should be between 1.5V to 5V. An absence of voltage indicates a possible short or disconnection.
  • Test fan operation: Inspect the operation of the internal fan. If it is not running, the system may overheat, triggering safety protocols. Confirm functionality by supplying direct power to the fan to bypass system controls.
  • Reset the system: Turn off the system completely, disconnect the power, and wait for 3 minutes before reconnecting. A hard reset can sometimes clear minor faults causing the lamp to flash.
  • Inspect control board: Look for any visible damage or burnt components on the control board. Use a magnifying glass for close inspection, and if damaged, replace the board.
  • Check refrigerant levels: If applicable, verify that the refrigerant levels are within specifications by employing a manifold gauge set. Low refrigerant can cause abnormal operation signals.
